"Saving a life is not as difficult as you think! "
For more than 48 years the Lincoln Park First Aid Squad has been providing free emergency medical services to friends, visitors and neighbors in Lincoln Park, in New Jersey. As the Lincoln Park area population continues to grow every year, the demands on the Lincoln Park First Aid Squad also increase annually.
All of the organization's members are volunteers who donate their time to answer emergency calls around the clock, 365-days a year. Neither the squad or any squad member receive any monetary compensation from any source for providing emergency medical Services.
Squad members are state-certified Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT), and are trained to recognize and treat an array of medical problems ranging from heart and asthma attacks, diabetic emergencies, respiratory problems to fractures, bumps and bruises. Training is provided free for any squad member.
Never knowing what you may encounter is part of the challenge of being a volunteer first aid squad member. As a squad member, you can make a difference in a person's life by providing the first, vital link in the pre-hospital environment for the patient. Your caring and EMS training can help ease the patient into the emergency system.
