Energy Cooperative - Morris County

The Borough Council and the Mayor are working to bring a state-supported program here called Government Energy Aggregation (GEA). GEA enables municipalities to total the energy use of their residents, and then seek a lower electricity rate on behalf of all residents.  Dozens of other towns across New Jersey have successfully implemented GEA programs over the past two years, saving residents millions of dollars statewide.

To help lower your electric bills as much as possible, we are working with four other Morris County towns to pursue GEA together: the boroughs of Wharton, Mendham and Riverdale, and the Township of Long Hill. This group is called the Morris Area Energy Cooperative.  By joining together, each town will have more buying power, so we can attract the lowest possible electric rates for residents.
